Job Description

As Service Tech – Vibratory Hammer & Power Packs at United Rentals Trench Safety, you’ll use your mechanical and hydraulic skills to perform maintenance tasks as well as minor repairs on equipment in a safe and professional manner. Duties include the following:

Perform Preventative maintenance and repairs on rental powered equipment and hydraulic shoring equipment such as vibratory hammers and powerpacks, hydraulic cylinders, etc.

Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner on a daily basis

Perform minor repairs on equipment and tools and tagging of equipment for rental ready status

Engine electrical systems troubleshooting and repair

Hydraulic systems troubleshooting and repair

Maintain a clean and organized shop and work area

Ability to read and understand operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals from original manufacturer

Be available and flexible in assisting in other workshop and yard activities as workloads dictate

Demonstrate equipment for customers

Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts

Other duties assigned as needed

Job Requirements:

High School diploma or equivalent

Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record

Basic understanding of schematics and diagrams – Hydraulic and electrical

2-3 years of experience repairing/maintaining engines and hydraulics and/or trade school graduate

Some travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance and for ongoing training and development

Superior customer service and verbal/written communication skills

Reliable, team oriented individual

Able to work overtime when necessary

Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals’ policies and procedures.
